Candice’s Candied Walnuts

These make a great addition to summer salads!


Or a nice little snack to go with a drink.  When I say drink I mean alcohol.


And, dare I say, good for you, in small doses, of course.

These are from Candice Kumai and Pretty Delicious.  And they are, in my opinion, very easy to make.  Just whip up an egg white with one tablespoon of water, and toss in the walnuts with sugar and a little brown sugar, sea salt, and cinnamon.


They don’t look so pretty here.  12 minutes at 350, stir, and then another 8 minutes.  They are sweet and crunchy, and not just because they’re nuts; I really think the egg white makes them crunch even more.  It could be my imagination.


In case you’re looking for some salad inspiration, my go-to is spinach, goat cheese, and blueberries.
