“California” Mandel Breit

If you have one of those old-fashioned metal ice-cube trays with dividers then this is the recipe for you.

Seriously, I don’t know what Lisa Yockelson was thinking when she threw in that requirement.  I wound up using loaf pans and it turned out okay.

I’m not an expert and I don’t play one on TV, but as far as I’m concerned this is biscotti:  twice-baked almond bread.   This one happens to be topped with cinnamon-sugar and it has some orange juice in it too.  I suspect that’s where the California part comes in.

I still love LY’s Baking Style and I’m looking forward to the next recipe, but if she requires the use of an ice-cube tray again I might have to reconsider.
