I’m not Italian, and even though I play one on TV, I have never heard of Checca Sauce.
According to Giada it’s just uncooked tomato sauce. According to the translation on dictionary.com it means pansy or homosexual. I think I prefer Giada’s definition. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Again, Everyday Italian is turning out to be Simple Italian. Start with 12 ounces of cherry tomatoes.
And then invite all the Italian standards: olive oil, garlic, basil, parmesan, plus the special guest of scallions, all chopped up.
As if that’s not beautiful enough, you can add fresh mozzarella cubes.
That all makes for another wonderful dinner on the veranda.
Eat Well and Savor.
