Potato and Celery Root Mash

I think this is the ugliest thing I’ve ever eaten.

And, frankly, while I’m busy complaining, it didn’t taste that great and it was pretty expensive.  Elizabeth Bard in Lunch in Paris calls for a 2 1/2 to 3 pound celery root.  Maybe I should have paid attention to the price on the shelf that said 5.99 per pound.   Seriously, the cashier at Publix tried to talk me out of it when she rang it up. 

Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t taste bad at all.  It just didn’t become my new favorite mashed potatoes, as EB promised.    As always, I’m glad I tried it.
