I really think that cake pops has a better ring to it.
I’m really not one to follow the crowd. For example, I didn’t start reading Harry Potter until the fourth one came out, and I still haven’t jumped on the Twilight bandwagon. Not to mention, I’m pretty sure I haven’t made a cupcake in the last two years. So here I am making an exception with the cake balls. I am currently hooked on the cake pops at Starbucks, and that’s really been my only exposure. They are the perfect-sized treat to go with my grande iced coffee and they are so freaking moist. My friend Avery gave me a cake pop maker for Christmas; it’s still sitting in the laundry room.
Well, when I saw this recipe from Jell-o in Bon Appetit, I knew I would have to try them. No cooking or machinery required, just a frozen pound cake.
