I will admit, burgers and fries has a better ring, but I’ve had a lot of carbs this week. The Broccoli with Lemon Sauce comes from The Complete Southern Cookbook by Tammy Algood. This is one of those recipes that I repeat. The lemon sauce is pretty much garlic, butter, and olive oil.
I love broccoli.
There are more than 800 recipes in this book and I have barely scratched the surface. I love the fact that the chapters are arranged by the main ingredient and there are whole chapters on Beets, Coca-Cola. and Macaroni and Cheese, just to name a few.
The burgers in question were actually Stuffed Turkey Burgers from Ellie Krieger’s The Food You Crave. Stuffed with what, you ask. I’ll tell you, mozzarella and red peppers. As if that doesn’t sound yummy enough, it was accompanied by the Chopped Fixins Salad from EK’s Comfort Food Fix. This salad was pretty much the burger toppings: lettuce, tomato, and dill pickle.
I apologize to any of my friends who have told me about this pickle in the salad thing before and I snubbed it.
