Banana, Fig & Walnut Bread, Oh My

I can’t believe this is from Fitness magazine.  I also can’t believe it’s been in my “files” since 2005 and I never made it.  Just one secret ingredient here:  dark rum, which smelled amazing while I was preparing it.  I must admit that I forgot it was in there.  It was perfectly browned and crispy on the outside and moist and golden on the inside.

It was the perfect little evening snack.

And just in case you’re wondering, I plan on having this for breakfast too.
